We've officially launched, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome you to Bike.com: a new media company built by eBike experts, for anyone who rides, wants to ride, or just can't stop reading about the latest in electric bikes.
Whether you're eBike-curious and trying to figure out where to even start, or you're a seasoned rider who wants sharp, honest reviews and the latest industry news, we built this site for you. And to celebrate going live, we're giving away a brand-new Denago City 1 eBike to one lucky reader; a $1,299 value, absolutely free.
Why We Built Bike.com
The eBike world has exploded over the past few years, and it's a lot to keep up with. There's new motor technology, new classes and regulations, and dozens of new brands entering the market every year. For a lot of people, that's exciting, but for a lot of others, it's overwhelming.
That's the gap we want to fill. Bike.com is built by people who live and breathe eBikes. We test them, ride them, compare specs, and follow the industry closely enough to tell you what actually matters. Our goal is simple: help you find the right eBike for your life, and give you a place to actually enjoy learning about the ones you're excited about.
Alongside our editorial coverage (buying guides, comparisons, maintenance tips, and industry news), we're also building out a marketplace of top-quality eBikes, so that once you know what you're looking for, you don't have to go far to find it.
The Giveaway: A Denago City 1 eBike
To kick things off in style, we partnered up with Denago to give away one of our favorite commuter eBikes on the market: the Denago City 1 Step-Thru.
If you're not familiar with it, the City 1 has become a favorite among city riders and casual commuters for good reason. It's comfortable, capable, and priced well below a lot of eBikes with similar specs. Here's what makes it stand out:
Power and Range
The City 1 is built around a 500W rear hub motor, capable of peaking at 750W with 50 Nm of torque, which offers plenty of power to handle hills and headwinds without breaking a sweat. Paired with a 48V, 13.6Ah LG battery, riders can expect up to 60 miles of range on a single charge, depending on how much pedal assist you use. Top speed comes in at 28 MPH on pedal assist and 20 MPH on throttle, giving you flexibility whether you want a workout or just want to cruise.
Braking and Safety
The City 1 comes equipped with hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear, paired with oversized rotors for precise stopping power — a feature you don't always see at this price point. The Kenda tires (27.5 x 2.2") include K-Shield puncture protection and reflective safety striping, so you're covered against flats and more visible in low light.
Everyday Usability
Round it out with a Denago LCD display (showing speed, trip distance, battery level, and more), a PIN lock security feature, an included kickstand, and a payload capacity of 300 lbs, and you've got an eBike built for real, everyday use.
